Autumnal Equinox Day is one of the national holidays in Japan and we pay respect to our ancestors and remember the recently deceased.
Although it is often said that the daytime will become shorter and the lengths of day and night will be equal, actually the daytime is a little longer.
Also, there is the equinoctial day of Higan(equinoctial week) and we eat Ohagi(bean cake) and worship our ancestors.
